  • Great video. Could do one in the future for hitting sand wedge from the fairway? Like 110 yards and in I'm struggling hitting the 56 and 60 degree wedges solid. PW-4i is fine. Frustrating!

  • Such great content, no wonder you got PGA coach of the year twice. It's the way you present it.
How does this motion carry over to woods/hybrids?
I know the ball position moves up but is it the same feeling?
    Blessings!

  • Thanks Sir. I'm trying to relearn golf . now have to learn with a broken neck and back 16 years ago. so it's been a challenge expecially staying down and practicing. but I love your videos. God bless you..

  • Love the videos. I have watched them all a few times. Just purchased my first set of clubs a few weeks ago. Sure wish I could take a class in person!! 🙂 Thanks again!

  • Another great lesson. keep up the great work.

Adam, it is great honor to watch your videos, I can't thank you and your team enough. You are a great gift for the game of golf.

  • You corrected my driver off the tee and now my irons on the fairway ….BRILL Adam!

  • top notch lesson as always!

  • hi Adam, I've only been playing around 6 months now, but I'm finding that I often hit the top the ball when taking an iron shot which results in a kind of a 'punch' shot.

I've been focusing on keeping my head and shoulders still in mid swing but I still seem to be topping my shots around 40% of the time. I'm struggling to figure out where im going wrong. Any tips at all would be great

  • The best golf tips I have seen on the internet. Keep them coming.

  • This is really good! I think it will help me to compress the ball and get my distance back.
Going to practice this to ingrain in my brain, right now.

    Thank you, Adam, CHEERS MATE!

  • Thank you, every time I ask one of my pros, he said, hit it has it lies at address.  Never made sense to me.  I have had to work hard on hitting sweet spot irons and struggle with it everyday.

  • Greg von Seeger

Another great video Adam! I have a question regarding this instruction: would you get the same result if you 'toed' the clubface in a bit? Or can you get the same result if you push your hands forward at address? Many thanks Adam keep up the great instruction!

  • Manuel Steiner

Hi. Great video. Do you think swing speed can cause top shots?

  • Wow! Great instructional video. They all are. Nicely done!

  • You're the best on Youtube, Adam. You've helped my game so much.

  • How do you hit down on the ball ??? it is so hard to do it I am a handicap 16.9 but i cannot hit down any more😢 Please Adam how do you hit down on the golfball…..

  • Great stuff!

  • Adam this is the best ever explained, you nailed it. People talk about the forward shaft lean a lot but seldom have they explained the angle of the shaft and the club face at impact and that is actually how the clubs are designed.

  • Just subscribed after watching this one. Great explanation and practice exercises. Can't wait to try these out. Any tips on foot position in reference to the ball?

  • personally I don't like this cause you're thinking about your hands while trying to hit the ball. It should be more about shifting weight and using big muscles. I've never once thought about my hands while hitting an iron shot.

  • Great video. why do I top golf balls

  • I tend to use the prayer grip from leadbetters a swing, to combat my right hand getting to strong. will this flattening of the left wrist work with grip? or will I need to switch grip styles? thanks

  • Hey Adam, for an amateur just looking for consistency in his shots, what is the best way to do that? I have a membership at a nearby course so I can play whenever but I find that no matter how much I play my rounds are still hit or miss. Any advice would be great! Thanks

  • i like

  • very good

  • i tried that exercise by pronating my wrists like you said one advantage i noticed is that the swing is easier and goes straighter, as in, less room for errors like shanks or slices. thanks for the videos, they are always soo helpful

  • All your videos are great….so informative!

  • After watching the majority if not all of your videos I have so much faith in the advise you give. If you suggested to hit the ball with the handle I'd be the laughing stock of the range this afternoon. LOL I trust your advise that much. Great work sir!

  • top notch explanation to finding sweet spot

  • Hi Adam, when I try to exaggerate delofting the club, I sometimes push it. I'm able to hit it straight if I would put the ball a little forward in my stance. Is this a good fix? How about if I do a stronger grip?

  • Why have I not heard this advise about the left wrist before?! Thanks again Adam.

  • Thanks it helps a lot and I'm 11

  • I just got back from the driving range I practiced this

  • these videos are killer.

  • Adam, just came across your videos a few days ago and I have been binge watching ever since. I've never heard anyone break down the golf swing so simply that even a hack like me can understand. Thanks so much for making these. Can't wait to get out to the range and practice what you've taught me.

  • Hi Adam, I've randomly over the last week developed a shank/hozzeling the club with my irons. I haven't been able to fix it and was wondering if you had any advice? Love the videos.

  • adam, I now have 1 swing thought, "knuckles down" and have been crushing the ball. Thanks I owe you a beer.

  • I hit some good iron shots, but most of the time they are going waaaay right or straight but not airborne. I feel like when I hit the ball right it's the clubface turning. Heeeellllppp!

  • I just strated golfing, your videos has helped me so much

  • Adam,

I have a return net and radar that I practice with in my yard. It seem to help my swing speed when I feel the club going back
and feel the direction change , and then feel the club going downs? I seem to get more feel and better swing speeds when my right wrist bends back more in the down swing ? It seem too help me bow my left wrist through impact? I think its all timing?
Just watched you Hitting your irons pure video!
    Thanks,
    Walt

  • Robert Konopken

Very well explained. I am going to try this at the range. I do have a tendency to come over the top and outside-in the swing, so I will have to get that under control. Just discovered your videos and I find them very concise and informative.

  • Thanks for this video! I've played golf for 15 years and never heard such a great explanation regarding the "Tilting" of the loft on the golf club!

  • REPLYYYYYYY ADAM

  • Thanks, as your tips are all new to me and I love them.

  • Thank you

  • I'm new to golf after spending a lifetime in engineering so I can relate to the mechanics involved in the golf swing ie component angles and arcs. I was particularly interested in the bottom of the swing when you advised on the adjustment of the hands to alter the angle of loft so as to present the sweet spot to the ball. Fascinating. Keep up the good work.

  • B-Squared Gaming

Doesn't turning your knuckles down close the club face?

  • Helped me a lot thanks😀😀

  • Thanks Adam, I broke 90 with an 88 last week for the first time thanks to much of your help regarding driving an irons. I know 88 is about 18 handicap but it felt great to manage it for the first time, now to beat 85.

I play in Scotland, living 15 minutes from St Andrew's and 10 from Carnoustie in the city of Dundee, it is often windy here so I often play a half swing golf to keep the ball lower when near the green, I think sometimes it is worthwhile playing the old "bump and run" to get some shots off the score!

    Thank you

    Daniel

  • Looking forward to hitting the practise ground! I'm confident this is going to make a huge difference to my game.

  • Had my irons reshafted into something stiffer for my swing speed. They came back .5" shorter than my previous for whatever reason. Now I am having issues with fat toe hits and feeling like I have to step down onto my toes to strike the ball. Is this typical for someone to lose strike quality over only .5" change? It seems to affect all my irons, long and short, even the wedges. Can technique adjust the quality of strike or am I going to have to have them extended? Would love to hear opinions, as the fitter says the change in length to standard should fit me.

  • Love you as a teacher. Not crazy about this video. I need tips on hitting irons pure, not tees and magnet gizmos

  • Where are you located? And do you do private 1 on 1 lessons? Thanks again

  • Ive watched 3 different videos for Rt hand grip, Rt hand hindge and downswing and now i can hit my irons soooo much better. Nice and straight and really far. I was NEVER able to hit my 3 iron well and dam sure couldnt even touch 200yrds. But now im hitting my 3 iron 220-250yrds. 😀 Thanks sooooo much for your help Adam!

  • Thank you Adam. I've been searching for an instructional video that'll teach me how to not chunk into the ground when the club comes around. Thank you for explaining the concept of Bounce underneath the club head. This little wrist movement that happens at impact is a great thing for me to begin trying to incorporate into my swing.

  • You talk too much. Get to it!

  • I think a sign you are getting better the hole doesn't seem as far away as it did first few times u played

  • Hit irons off tee pretty well, but on the fairway, a no go. Big ol chunk before the ball. Looking forward to trying this.

  • Very nice explanation Adam.Love the close-ups!

  • Been taking lessons for ages now, and no-one has ever told me any of this. Thanks, Adam!

  • Great advice thanks Adam.

  • Insightful, and bloody good

  • I suck at golf; but I love being at the course with no woman(wife) yacking at me while I'm hacking after working my ass off all day.

  • Hi Adam, a little update from me at The Sands, Torquay, Vic, Australia… My handicap is now down to 7, and my son still loves his golf. So in about 20 months, I have gone from around 36, down to 7… My 8 year old son with his Driving has gone from 50-60 yards, to 150+ yards (roll out). You are the best Golf Coach on YouTube! Thanks so much for helping make the game more enjoyable, for more people! … In the future, I would love to book in for a Lesson in Florida.
Thanks so much, from Simon and son Teo.

  • Agreed, you're lessons are the best I've ever seen. Im 59 and have been playing since I was 16. Thanks so much.
    Chuck Rawlinson

  • Awesome.

  • No one showed me that. I bet I finally get ride of the shanks!!!!!!!

  • JonathanBaylor22 Baylor

This is where I need help at.

  • Adam, I am an old flipped from old and am having a hard time with this one. My question to you is where then do I try for release. After the ball and that is really going to be hard for us flippers.

  • great info and so easily explained . thanks

Great explanation Adam thats what i struggle with hit the ball to high. When are you coming over to scotland so i can get a lesson😂🏌️⛳️

  • Lenny77Ludolf77

Very good tips mentioned in the video!!! Can you explain to me what I can do if the ball sometimes flies away to the left (hook) when using your tip? Thx…

  • I really appreciate your short lessons thank you.

  • This video was extremely helpful. I've been golfing < 1 year and I can't say for certain if keeping my weight forward and coming through the ball was actually the cure, but I played my best round of the season after watching this. I was also hitting all my clubs 10-20 yards further.

  • If you do that wouldn't you block the shot? I am probably wrong though.

  • past the breakers

wish my fairways looked like that !! that fairway is pure.

  • Adam, you are a great instructor. Deconstructing such a complicated subject like the golf swing and properly explaining the building blocks of properly hitting the ball. Thanks for all the good work.

  • I REALLY ENJOY YOUR INSTRUCTION..

  • awesome tip

  • I'm a left handed golfer and my hits off the ball are solid but hooking left every time…What's going on?

  • Hm. Why not use an iron with a different angle instead of using your arms to compensate for an incorrect angle on the club?

  • This lesson is what I was looking for ! My local golf course hated me because I ruined fairway by digging into it so many times!
    Thanks.

  • Another very insightful video. The ‘8 iron on clipboard’ illustration was very helpful. Thanks, Adam.

  • Thanks Adam, I am a 74 year old golf nut who has been skying irons for ages. Today I got your system working a couple of times and it worked well. Looking forward to hitting a lot more solid irons in future.

  • Stanly Pokipoki

    Too much talking

  • 1:02 LOL! You can see Jr size. Lol

  • Great Video! I was struggling with compressing the ball and feeling the crisp solid contact at impact. My shots generally have decent distance, but they just felt “weak” coming off the face. This video turned my “weak” contact to a solid compression of the ball, I instantly felt a difference in my contact. Started to attack every pin , and even noticed my balls “checking” on the green and spinning back a bit! Great video! Thanks again! 😃

  • Hi Adam, love your videos! I can turn the wrist down and hit solid little shots, but when I try a full faster swing I miss hit. Any advise? Thanks!
